  • David St. Hubbins: I do not, for one, think that the problem was that the band was down. I think that the problem may have been, that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf. Alright? That tended to understate the hugeness of the object.

  • Derek Smalls: Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea.

Stanley Spencer’s chapel : Sandham Memorial Chapel

  • His wonderful mural, plus the town has lots of his other work.
  • About 40 miles north of Portsmouth. A little east of Stonehenge

  • Located half way between Carlisle and Newcastle (right in the middle) right by Hadrians wall

  • Guided tours : on a Wed, Sat or Sun (July) plus some odd other days (see website)
  • Excavations : watch them dig on Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm (weather permitting)
